Cool...

I can see hints of your style there. I hear that lead and the use of filters. It sounds a lot like your other songs. You have this very unique style that I always hear.

I think it could be a bit more upbeat. I know that OCON likes relaxed tracks, but I think this could have gone a bit faster than it does.

The bass is nice, pretty generic, but who cares? It sounds good! That lead is nice, z3ta-ey. Also, I see your melodic work, with that crazy lead portion.

Yeah, this is pretty much like your song. I like it, good job! Now, where is that track you showed me last night?!

Awesome!

It was awesome! I disliked the generic crowd cheering samples, they get old after a while.

That airy sound is creepy, to me. It has elements of trance in it, due to builds and breaks.

The vox is good, and some of the drums are too.

I would advise a lead synth, rather than just a few repeating rhythms.

It was good for your first! Keep it up!

TheDevilZ responds:

Thanks :D

Cool!

This was a really interesting song! It sounded good with that Windows sounds!

The windows bleeps as a lead was interesting, but it would have been cool to have some melodies made with the windows instruments, as you can edit pitches.

The ending was unexpected and cool! Keep it up!

TheDevilZ responds:

Tyvm!! ;D

um...

Autodownloaded, very much?

You know, it is really annoying when people autodownload. Don't do it, nobody believes it.

Hooray!

YAY for first submission!

Ok, I like the choir in the intro, that is a nice sample!

HOLY SHIT!! That is an awesome synth, z3ta, right? I love this! It reminds me of GroundForce, and it is mixed very nicely!

The drums are really nice, and very nice samples too!

OHH its trance! It breaks to a nice picked melody, only to get back to the gating!

Awesome snare sample! It packs a punch! This song rocks!

Its short, so that is bad, but really, I love this song! Keep submitting, you could get famous!

Your work with the synth and the short glitches are very nice, man, you rule.

YAY! Download and 5'd.

Thanks for your vote, navij11! You voted 5 for [-X_P-] Xynth of Dreams [Mix], keeping its score at 5.00.

XynthPulse responds:

Thanks for the helpful review. And first reviewer ever. If i ever make millions, I'll send you like $10,000 cuz I love you that much.

Blah...

I feel like reviewing, so here we go...

Wait. WTF!!! There is no song, dude! Resubmit it! It isn't playing :'(

CyrusOfNaias responds:

It isn't? Dammit! Alright sorry 'bout that. I can't believe it's broken...

Some good, some bad

There was a lot of good things in this piece, I see that you have discovered many FL tricks. I am assuming that you use FL, based on a few things, which I do not care to list.

First, the bass needs some work. It is pretty much the same as the the melody, make it different! You need like a cool bass, a good suggestion is a bass that switches octaves on eighth notes.

Second, this didn't sound like a "YAY SCHOOL IS OVER" piece to me. It sounded angry, not happy.

Third, I like the drums, but you need better samples. MUCH BETTER samples. I can send you a few over AIM or MSN, whichever you prefer. I really like how the drums change, that is good and will help you in a variety of genres.

I think the lead is OK, but it needs a bit more. Try some other things out and make your own leads. Explore Sytrus, it is a very easy to manipulate program, and is good practice for the more difficult VSTs.

I see that you discovered "slide", but try playing around with automation or event ending, whichever you prefer.

Really, I like how you have inspiration and have a lot of songs, but remember - "Quality over Quantity." I could help you out a bit and maybe even collab if you want to learn more.

Well, see you later.

ShootingStar responds:

ok, thanks for the review, but I used the trial of Fl and so I can't save my songs. I might be able to make it agian but that's probably going to be hard. Thanks though.

Interesting!

Its an interesting loop! Not bad, but very basic! I like the use of filters.

The NG system actaully does allow looping, but the mp3s do not loop perfectly, due to compression technology. In order to get a near-perfect loop, you need to have a .wav file, but you are not allowed to submit those on Newgrounds. Usually, if an artist uses your work, they will PM you and you can send them the wav file.

About the song, you need better drumwork, and bass. Your lead is basic, but it works. What VSTi's do you use? (Ex, Sytrus, z3ta).

It is interesting, so keep up the good work.

Try making full songs, and remember that trance is a very complex genre, and even when You think you have it figured out, there is still more to learn (I learned this the hard way!).

I like it!

I like it!

It has one thing that I really like! It is catchy, but it slowly evolves over time! That is an awesome effect!

It is a really nice song, and is very light, but it keeps your style, so it is great!

Really, keep it up, I love some of your stuff!

Buoy responds:

asdf, thanks a lot!

Nice work!

I like it!

I think the vocals are a bit quiet, but I like the vocoder work.

It is a really simple sounding song, but it really is nice! I like it!

Keep up the work!

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

vocals are a bit quiet? i'll pass that on to the producer:/ I'll post a full version if he does 1. i've got a few suggestions of my own;)
