Wanted to PUMP IT UP!!!

This was a great song! I love how although the beats change every second, they still fit in with the song! Having tried that before and failed, I really respect a track that succeeds!

The distortion on this song was a great effect! It really made me want to PUMP UP THE VOLUME!!

Also, I have no idea how you managed to keep the melody lines sounding happy and nice throughout the song, but I love how they sound and blend with the beats.

The cool wowoowooowwooo effect was really nice. It stood out for me and made it sound better.

I really wanted to turn the volume up loud, but because my dad had a headache and by brother was sleeping, I couldn't :'( Well, maybe next time, or on my headphones :)

Overall, awesome work, keep it up, keep it moving!

Very Nice!!

This was a nice song! There was many good things and only a few bad things!

I'll start off with the bad. The song doesn't have interesting enough instruments. I would advise adding more interesting stuff to add some diversity to the song.

I though the wow-wah-wawow thing sounded really cool! It gave the piece some nice effects.

It was also cool how I never knew when the song was over or when it looped. All of the pauses confused me, in a good way! They added interest to the piece!

Also, I really liked the texture of some of the main synths, although sometimes they didn't blend well.

Overall, good song! If you wouldn't mind too muchm could you please check out my newest song, 1NJ1 - Blurriness at http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/view.php?id=1835830??

Thanks! Keep up the hard work!

Thanks. Getting reviews like this is a lot more useful than just "good job" it helps me to improve.

Ok, Some Problems...

It was good, the drums were nice, and in my favorite style of "crazy randomness."

It was bad, up until the distorted guitar kicked in. The guitar part was awesome, but the drums were not as good for the guitar part as in the part before. You overuse the roll.

The ending hurt, it was too crass and made my ears ring.

I liked the texture of the guitar and the drums in the first part. Keep up the good work!

I like to do drums too! I wouldn't mind you checking out my Mac7 Pico Day submission with a great drum part at

Great work, keep it up!

Great!!

It was a really good heavy metal song, it brings back memories of when I used to listen to this kind of stuff a lot.

The vocals were great, along with the guitar part. I felt that the bass wasn't strong enough and the drums needed more "oomph." I hope you know what I mean.

The part where you say "yeah, bring it, yeah, sing it" you sound slightly bored. Try and put a bit of spark in your voice next time.

It was a great song though. One of the first heavy metal songs I've heard here with good vocals AND instrumentation.

Keep up the good work!!

Thanks alot, man. Ooomph eh>? Yeah I agree. After a billion times of trying to get it to a key that fits in the song, you forget to include the inspiration that made you write those lyrics to begin with...hahaha.

Thanks for the awesome review, man!\m/

Good. some minor issues...

I liked it a lot, I really did. It is nice, very chilled, but there was a few problems.

The first is lack of low part. There was no "ground" to it. It made the piece too airy. I mean, I guess it could fit the name, but really, the treble started to kill after a bit.

Another issue was lack of variation. Sure, it was something I could fall asleep to (I think I'll DL it just for that purpose :D) but that is not always a good thing. The piece mostly sounded the same except for the part with almost nothing but drums.

Another problem was how long it took to "warm up." The drums didn't kick in consistently until I was already drooling in my chair.

It is a great peaceful, ambient song, like a lullaby. It really just didn't have somethings that could have made the piece.

Nice Job!

I really like this one, not only because I used to play MMBN4 obsessively (on my 7th playthrough, lol).

I did not like the drums, they were much to fast. Try slowing down the BPM or spacing out the drums more.

I also didn't like the choice of main synth. You should have used something with a bit more reverb and something a bit more tranceish would have helped.

I liked the background effects a bunch. They really added to the quality of the song.

Keep up the good work!

You... Wow! More than I played MMBN3 Blue! Amazing! You ain't got nothin' on my Pokemon Red, though-- 297:49. Booyah!

Great!

I really liked this song! I have always been a fan of Pokemon music and this fits.

The drums are very good and fit the song well.

I think you could have picked a better choice of main synth and could have even used a morph effect between the part A and part B.

It needed more bass, it was very treble and could get slightly unpleasant.

It would be nice if it was longer, but overall great! Keep remixing, you could turn out to have some nice stuff!

Hyper-Freak92 responds:

Hey, thanks. You can probably tell I'm a percussionist primarily, but you're right, this was a quick throw-together and it could have used a little more oomph on the almost inaudible bass track and something a little more classic VG for the synth.

Thanks for listening, maybe I'll fine-tune it sometime.

Hah!

I saw your topic on the audio forum and now I need to review this.

It is in no way original, it is probably the most over-remixed song ever.

It is not diverse at all. Anyone can put Sonic to the bells part and call it music.

It is clear, I can't argue with that.

It took little effort, just some clicking and dragging in FL Studio.

If you want to see some GOOD Sonic remixes check out sonic2.ocremix.org and s3k.ocremix.org.

PaulyBFromDa303 responds:

What BBS post? Or are you just buying into HouseMasta's little scheme to get rid of me?

Good Try...

It was good in some ways yet bad in others. First, I need to say, I appreciate your efforts in this. I know how hard this must be.

Now, I enjoyed how you actually captured both melody lines using your hand, rather than a piano roll. I actually like the hand done piano song, whether or not there are minor mistakes that come with being human.

I didn't like the fact that it was bland though. Many users on Newgrounds enjoy music that is constantly changing, with new sounds, rhythms and other subtle changes of the sort. ParagonX9 was a master at this. The problem with piano is that it does not captivate as much as a fast-paced techno-trance rave song.

I appreciate your efforts, I really do, but I don't think that the rest of the Newgrounds really understands the difficulty transposing and executing a live song rather than a remix.

Keep it up and keep trying to captivate!

Nice Reflection!

It was good, not perfect though.

I really like the execution of the main melody and the piano sound. In the beginning, there wasn't enough going on to captivate enough, I would consider adding some background instruments.

The melody was nice and the style really fit the traditional Zelda style.

Overall, you did a good job, you just need more "stuff" going on.

navij11<---I think...i apologized for misspelling..thanks for the review...I wasn't too sure what to put into this song to make it longer...I just didnt want the original song..that wouldve been quite the somewhat boring to me...Though i did feel something missing too.. Thanks for, a navij11 review! ;P
